A global pipeline of innovations including artificial intelligence, mobile clinics, home-based sensors etc are transforming China into the largest marketplace for smart home and smart cities in the world
16th Nov 2015 – Many real estate developers in China are transforming their bricks and mortar business into a more health and aged care thematic real estate business. Such transformation requires real estate developers to adopt a new knowledge base, a new business model, new innovations, new designs and a new mindset.
Borderless Healthcare Group and ThomsonAdsett have joined forces with real estate developers, architects, technology experts, medical experts and designers to set up a Borderless Smart Life Alliance to allow members of the alliance to have access to global innovations in the development of Smart Home and Smart City. Members of the alliance will also be invited to exclusive tours, workshops and hackathons to stay ahead in the latest trends in smart home and smart city innovations globally.
City planning in many countries is expected to adopt a new multi-disciplinary model as urbanisation planning, especially in China, is bottlenecked by insufficient healthcare services. The development of innovation hubs in cities can promote a new innovation force between the commercial properties in the cities and the residential real estates that require a “Smart Revamp”. More than 90% of the 200 million plus elderly people are ageing at home. Proximal healthcare and step down care facilities are still at its infancy. Smart home and smart city with healthcare on demand services at home will be one of the key catalysts in China’s multi-trillion dollar healthcare reform.
The Borderless Smart Life Alliance aims to kick-off the transition of bricks and mortar silver economy to a service and knowledge based “golden” economy. Existing intellectual property and knowledge around the world can enter China to create a series of new silver centric multi-nationals.
“There is no better time to add value in content, services and technology to real estate developers in China and the world when real estate consumers’ expectations have surpassed many traditional bricks and mortar concept,” says Dr Wei Siang Yu, Chairman of Borderless Healthcare Group.
